Volunteer for Miracle Babies
Miracle Babies is a charity that is close to many peoples hearts. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and we all unite with the same common goal to support premature and sick newborns and their families. We are also dedicated to supporting Newborn Intensive Care Units, for without the NICU many of our children would not have survived and for that we are extremely grateful.

Volunteers contribute to fulfilling Miracle Babies work in a number of ways, such as;
- Fundraising
- Parent Support Program
- Community Awareness
- Events
- Playgroup
- Knitters and Sewers
The majority of Miracle Babies volunteers are involved in fundraising activities, which takes many forms – chocolate drives, merchandise sales, assisting at our annual charity events such as the golf day or ball. Volunteers are always inventing new and imaginative ways to raise funds.
Whatever their commitment, big or small, every one of our volunteers plays a special part in helping to continue Miracle Babies work. Becoming a volunteer gives you the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and share experiences and also gets you involved with a group of like-minded people working together.
Depending on the role volunteers may be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check. You may also be required to attend an interview and undertake reference checks.

Volunteer Meetings
Miracle Babies hold monthly volunteer meetings on the 1st Thursday of every month which are open to all those interested in Miracle Babies activities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Do I have to be a parent of a premature or sick newborn to volunteer?
A: No you don't. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and having a premature or sick newborn is not a prerequisite. We do however have a large group of mums and dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends who want to give back to this worthy cause.
Q: How much time would I need to commit?
A: As a volunteer for miracle babies you decide how much time you can commit. Many of our volunteers also have work, family and social commitments. We are grateful for any time volunteers can give.
Q: What skills do I need to be a Miracle Babies volunteer?
A: There are no specialist skills required to be a volunteer. All we ask is that you have a genuine passion to make a real difference and have empathy for families who have experienced the birth of a premature or sick newborn. Any prior fundraising, event management, administrative, public relations or project management skills are definitely a bonus!
Q: Are Miracle Babies volunteers required to undergo any special checks?

Q: Do I need to take on an office bearer's role to be a miracle babies volunteer?
A: No, you can be a general Miracle Babies volunteer and assist with tasks such as fundraising. However, if you are interested in taking on a role, each year all office bearer positions are allocated at the Annual General Meeting.
