National Awareness Month - November 2009

Every year, in Australia approximately 42,000 babies are born requiring the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or a Special Care Nursery. Around 23,000 of these babies are born premature and up to 1000 of these babies lose their fight for life.

Miracle Babies works to honour and celebrate the birth of these precious babies as well as support their families and the NICU's who care for them by providing;

• Parent to Parent Support and a 24 hour Family Support Phone Line
• Website, Online Forum and Facebook Groups
• Unique Playgroups
• Miracle Magazine
• Memory Boxes for families of babies who have passed
• Knitting and Sewing Groups
• Equipment and Resources for NICUs

To continue this amazing work and help even more babies, families and NICUs, Miracle Babies Foundation has become a national organisation and to celebrate, this November we are launching our very first "Miracle Babies Foundation National Awareness Month."

What's happening in November -

• Merchandise Boxes on display in all Myer and Best & Less stores nationally
• Community Service Announcements on TV and radio
• Annual Babies Picnic - celebrating the babies that have graduated and gone home
• Annual Charity Golf Day - dedicated to the babies that loose their fight for life
• Official opening of the long awaited Parent Accommodation and Lounge at Liverpool Hospital NICU

We would love your help and support in raising awareness and much needed funds during the November -

You can help Miracle Babies Foundation by:

• Purchasing merchandise which will be available at all Myer and Best & Less stores nationally as well as through our online store.
• Holding a fundraiser during the month of November. For example a morning tea or hush-a-thon. You can design your own online fundraising page which is a great and easy way to share your fundraiser with friends and family around the world. Visit our fundraising pages to help you get started
• Displaying a Miracle Babies Foundation National Awareness Month Poster in your workplace, business or school.
